Egypt is amazing, beginning with the chaotic charm of Cairo, its bustling bazaars, the imposing Pyramids of Giza, and the iconic Sphinx. Jordan has also seen a surge in popularity recently. The two standout attractions are Petra, the Rose City, renowned for its rock-cut architecture and ancient water conduit system, and Wadi Rum, a desert valley famed for its stunning landscapes. Experience Bedouin culture and go on desert safaris in this otherworldly location, often featured in blockbuster sci-fi films.

Jerusalem (Israel/Palestine) is the holy city for three major religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It is home to religious sites such as the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Dome of the Rock.

Morocco

I loved visiting Taghazout, a surfing area in Morocco, with friends. The great surfing, amazing walks in the mountains, incredible food, and friendly people were all highlights but the vibrant colours and buildings were really memorable.

I first visited Egypt in 1987, taking a side trip from Israel. The pyramids, sound and light show, and ancient history amazed me. With each visit, I've noticed more tourism and development. Before visiting, I’d really recommend reading about the pharaonic timeline to fully appreciate sites like the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Egypt is truly unique, unlike anywhere else on Earth.

My first experience in Morocco was during a truck trip through Africa, seeing a few tourist sites as we passed through. Later, in Marrakech, I appreciated the Arabic life, the main square, markets, and desert trips; it’s a great introduction to Arabic culture with its authentic atmosphere and minimal modern development.
