Tour itinerary
Depart Christchurch at 1050am, arrive Singapore 540pm, depart Singapore 1020pm and arrive Colombo 1135pm. On arrival at the airport, meet your tour Manager at the arrival lounge who will assist you with the transfer to the
Negombo hotel for overnight stay.
Today we travel to Dambulla, and on our way we stop by a roadside fruit market to taste the seasonal fruits. Later visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage
Site, the complex spans five caves and contains over 150 Buddha images, some of which date as far back as the
1st century BC. In the evening, enjoy a vibrant Habarana Cultural Show. Stay three nights in Dambulla.
Discover the 5th-century ancient clifftop fortress of Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This imposing
citadel site is known as “Lion’s Rock” and explores the ruins of ancient palaces, moats, shrines, frescoes and water gardens as you take in commanding vistas of the misty forests beyond. Later, pay a visit to a farmer’s house in Sigiriya and immerse yourself in the day to day lifestyle and farming traditions, including an exploration of his organic garden. Evening proceed for a wildlife safari at Minneriya National Park. The Park is based largely around a huge tank (reservoir) and serves as an important gathering place for Sri Lanka’s large elephant population.
Besides elephants, Minneriya is also home to many species of mammals like the sambar deer and sloth bear.
Today enjoy an excursion to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the ruins and monuments, an engineering marvel, embellished with handsome stone carvings or sculptures, pleasure gardens, beautifully executed stone baths and ponds and a superb irrigation system of reservoirs and canals dated back to the 2nd Century BC.
Take an excursion to Polonnaruwa, another World Heritage Site, and visit monuments built by the South Indian Cholas dynasty in the 11th and 12th centuries. Later, continue your journey to Trincomalee, located on the stunning East Coast of Sri Lanka. It’s the perfect destination for sun-seekers, thrillseekers, and those looking to unwind. Morning, we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kandy and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then walk around the Upper Lake area to enjoy the view of Kandy. Later visit Gem Museum and watch a short film on Gem Mining in Sri Lanka then explore the shop attached showcasing the finished jewelry.
Today travel to Nuwara Eliya enroute visiting Ramboda Falls. Nuwara Eliya also known as little England through thousands of acres of Tea Plantations and some breath-taking views as you slowly climb up through the hills. Remaining day is free to relax or explore. Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
We have an early start to visit a Tea Plantation and Factory. Later travel to Yala, with a stop at the breathtaking Ravana Falls in the serene town of Ella. Continue your journey to Yala, famous for its national park. Evening free to explore and stay two nights in Yala.
Morning in leisure. Afternoon take a jeep safari to Yala National Park to Spot varieties of wild animals, birds
and reptiles.
Travel to Bentota enroute experiencing the traditional beeralu lace weaving then enjoy the Galle city tour. Continue journey to Bentota, a beach destination
on the South Coast where you can unwind and enjoy the golden sand beaches. Stay three nights in Bentota.
Transfer to Balapitya for the Madu River boat ride. Enjoy one hour Madu river boat safari through the primitive depths of the mangrove marshes. Then proceed towards the Buddhist
Monastery, see how Kraal fishing is carried out and Ceylon Cinnamon is peeled. Thereafter visit a Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda beach, one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
Day at leisure to relax by the ocean or explore on own.
Today travel to Colombo and enjoy some last-moment shopping, followed by Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
Late evening tour finishes with a direct transfer to Colombo airport.
Depart Colombo at 0050am and arrive Singapore at 720am. Check into your transit hotel room at Singapore airport for your 12 hour stay, departing at 750pm.
