Discover Travel were thrilled to be named ‘Top Leisure Travel Agency’ for Intrepid Travel at the 2024 National Travel Industry Awards recently. We’ve been big fans of Intrepid and their style of innovative small group, low impact travel for 25 years, so to have been recognised with this award was very special.

For example, Intrepid have just launched a new dedicated rail travel range. The collection of 40 trips, includes three new itineraries, allowing clients to travel slower, experience more of the countryside and have more opportunities for local interaction. They offer iconic routes like Bangkok to Southern Thailand, and lesser-known routes like Varanasi to Agra in India, as well as trips geared to families such as the Tokyo to Kyoto, and Rome to Pompeii.

The first of the three new itineraries is the 11-day Trans-Mongolian Railway Adventure. Priced from $4900pp the trip begins in Beijing, travelling through China to Inner Mongolia, Khustai National Park, the Gobi Desert and Sainshand, before ending in Ulaanbaatar. Also new is the 15-day Express to the Orient: Paris to Istanbul, ex Paris to Budapest by train, before taking local trains from Belgrade to Istanbul. Prices start from $6450pp. Then there’s the 10-day Paris to Rome by Rail, from $6110pp, travelling on the Gotthard Panorama Express through Switzerland.
